OK, so I want to start this saying I have always been HORRIBLE with introductions. It's like, how do you sit and basically promote yourself in a pool of people with a similar interest without sounding cookie-cutter and mundane. So I will at least attempt as I want to get to know people on here, and maybe even in my area.
My name is Kate, I just turned 25 on July 13th, the same day my tickets for the August 9th Providence Show appeared- HOOHAW! (I also spent the day rolling around on the floor waiting for 'Connect' to release 3 days later.)
I am an artist. It is my life, it is my passion. According to my 'folks I've been drawing since before I could walk or talk. I hope to someday have an online webcomic (that I actually keep updated). I'm currently invested in a "Draw Everyday" Meme and since Janurary I have been able to do it.

As for my love for Sick Puppies, its been a life adventure since 2009. I was 20 year old Floridan punk, who wanted to just live. I had lived in a shell due to just a torturous childhood fighting mental illness with my dad, and had finally escaped and gotten married to my high school sweetheart. At the time all I wanted to do was party and live, I stumbled into a well paying 3-11 job which caused my social party lifestyle to almost become a third shift and weekend event.
My first taste of Sick Puppies, came along with the taste of blood. We had been partying in the hot sun all day, I'm pretty sure some of us (myself included) had more beer than blood flowing threw us. I'm still not sure how it started, "you're going down" had started playing, and before the sick sounds could really capture me I was getting punched in the face. I remember thinking just how fitting the song had been, and it stuck with me over the years.
Shortly after in 2010 my rebellious ways were harnessed when I had my daughter, Genesis Lynn. It was the biggest thing I had ever done in my life, and I had never realized what love was until then. But sadly, dreams end just as fast as they start. I lost my job, my husband was working as a server in a small town and we moved in with his parents shortly after. On my daughter's 1st birthday my husband woke me up and declared he wanted a divorce and that he was taking me for custody.
Sadly, I was in no place in my life to even try to fight for my daughter. I was homeless,jobless,car-less and in the middle of the summer in Florida with no family or friends in the area. My family sent for me and I made the hardest decision to leave for Massachusetts without my sunshine.
I went into a shell and honestly I didn't think there was a light at the end of the tunnel. In mid 2012 I started to come online and interact with people, pulling me right back out of that shell. I met one of my closest friends, who just happened to live in Holland. She really introduced the person I am today with Sick Puppies, which just happened to be her favorite band of all time.
Hearing Sick Puppies, let me start healing. Since then I have been just in love with the bands personality, and how loving they are to their fans.
Since then I have paid my first of many tributes to Sick Puppies:
I want to thank everyone who read this rant about myself, and I look forward to finally getting to meet you guys!

Hi Kate -
There's not been much sun in the sunshine state lately - just bits of it peeking out once every other day or so. As you'll know, that makes it cooler, so our temps are actually running lower than a lot of other places, from what I've heard.
When the sun appears again, I'll send you some rays - hopefully it'll light up some of the darker spots that you're still trying to get rid of.
I've been down a path that, though not much similar to yours, has been pure hell, as well. The music of Emma, Mark, & Shim has helped me along the way. I'm glad it's helping you, too. SO many of the lyrics from 'Connect' have truly hit home for me, how about you?
