Mobile clients?

Unread postby MrWutsurFace » 16 Jul 2013 22:29

Is SPWC supported by any mobile clients? If I could access the forums from my phone I wouldn't disappear every few months

Yea...I've done it too. It's a bit of a pain at times though so I try to avoid it.

I usually am on my laptop but I do access it on my mobile browser at lunch and don't have a problem. It is a little cumbersome in that it is tiny and you need to expand the view but otherwise no problems.

Mods can look into Tapatalk, it's a free mobile app, with an upgraded versions for tablets for $2.99, which will have features added with no additional charges.

Tapatalk can be added to our forums by a mod, a link below will go to their site. Seems like a simple setup to make the forums a little more mobile friendly.

Tapatalk (which I use for other sites) was recommended a while back. To install it requires more than just being a mod or admin. It requires access to the back end of the site. I forget the official reason for it being nixed but I don't think we have any 3rd party modifications to the forum.

As for phone browser. I use Chrome on my droid and there are few things I can't do.

I have had some people tell me (and have experienced myself) that while on the forum on your Android device, it can start running slow, not click on buttons/icons or freeze. If this happens, try just clicking your home or return button on your phone, then just go back to your web browser where the forum is...works for me every time.
