Got a question or stuck on something?

Unread postby Zach » 05 Jun 2008 11:27

Hey there,

So you have a question, eh? First thing to do is head on over to the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section to see if you can find an answer there. If those solutions don't work for you, feel free to post in the Technical Support section, and someone will help you out.

Take care :)

Is there a new code for posting YouTubes, now? The "[yt][/yt]" code doesn't seem to work on the new forum.

Is there anyone going to listen to my story? All about the girl who came to stay?

Thanks to Meredith (DNRpuppy) for my set.

It is not...yet. I will implement it later on this week. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. It will take me about 2 hours to get it onto the board properly.

Thank you... and you're welcome. :)
I was just curious... you know, sometimes change is just a bit confusing.

From Zach's thread in the FAQ:

zach wrote:How can I change my email address, username, or other account details?

Most of your account information can be readily and easily updated or changed through the User Control Panel. To access your control panel, you click on the "User Control Panel" link in the upper-left area of the board (under the "Board Index" icon). Once in your control panel, you will notice that there are several tabs with different options. Feel free to take a gander at all of the options. Listed below are some commonly updated or changed options within the User Control Panel tabs.

Password:
You can change or update your password by clicking on the profile tab, then on "Edit Account Settings." You will notice two boxes, one to type in your new password and then a confirmation box. Once you have typed your new password in both boxes, click "Submit." Do note that changing your password will require you to login again before continuing to use the forum.

YouTube codes have been added. Please note the help regarding posting a YouTube video. You only put the part after the v= in between the youtube tags. If you have any questions, please just ask.

Well on this board, there is a limit to how many PMs you can have stored. So if you leave them, your inbox will fill up and you won't be able to receive PMs until you empty it. I don't see an option to save them, though. Perhaps Zach knows....

Um I made a little mistake and marked all the forums as read and I have not finished all. I was wondering if anyone knew if there is a way to undo my mistake.

hey Zach....do we have the option of leaving ourselves signed in for a certain period of time like the old site??? If not now, will it be something that is yet to come? I hate having to sign in again just b/c I left the page for a few minutes.

well, your computer will store your password so you dont have to log in every time you visit the site. However, I dont want my computer to remember my password if at all possible. I would rather have the site give me the option on logging in for a certain amount of time and then logging me out once that time has elapsed. Just like the proboards site did.

It is quite a large security threat the be left signed in for any length of time where you are not active. BUT, if you allow active cookies (set in your browser options), you should be able to stay signed in. As I said though, I wouldn't recommend it for security reasons.

Also, if you go to the actual login page, you will see an option to log you in automatically:

ucp.php?mode=login
