I like going to the movies by myself - it gets me out of the house. You can be out around people without actually having to talk to anybody. The air conditioning aspect doesn't sound too bad right now either. Sneak in some good candy
I have seen it twice, and I went with my parents the second time because I got my Dad into the books. Just as good as the first viewing.

Loved the movie but I really hate that they changed the pin story (it's even more important in the 2nd book) and how much stuff they left out (Avox Girl, Haymitch's stage dive, etc.)
To be honest biggest complaint was the cornucopia, it looked so ridiculous, was supposed to be made out of gold.
Regardless they did a good job and I'm ready for the next

Yea the pin thing really irked me. They left a ton out but it's so hard because the book has SO MUCH detail. I like that the movie is more like you are a member of the Panem though, as opposed to the books, where it's all from Katniss' point of view. In the movie you get to see the mechanics behind the Games and such...I enjoyed that. I feel like the forming of the relationships between Katniss/Cinna and Katniss/Rue went a bit too quick. But again, they only had so much time. I think the casting was absolutely perfect though. Everyone. I was so happy.

I saw the movie two times: I loved it. It was so impressive: the clothes, the make-up, the special effects. Really fantastic.

I found a website that has the movie uploaded. (The quality kind of sucks, but at least I no longer have to pay $8.50 every time the urge to see it hits. )

I finally saw it over the weekend. Although they left a lot out, I really liked it. It's one of the few times I wasn't overly critical of a book turned movie. They did an excellent job with the casting! I agree about the pin, and the quickness of the relationship with Katniss and Rue. My daughter still bawled when Rue died, though.

The last time I saw it in theatres, the people who came and sat right next to me (in a theatre with only 5 other people- gah I hate that!) were discussing it at the end of the movie and called it barbaric and perverse.
